The content of this unit will support you in completing your Non-Exam Assessment task for both the single and double award. Unit 3: You will learn about the ethical issues affecting service provision in Wales. The unit will look at the challenges involved in providing and supporting a sustainable health and social care, and childcare system for Wales in the 21st century. Unit 4: You will learn about the ways in which health and social care, and childcare services aim to provide support to individuals in Wales to achieve health and well-being. The unit also focuses on self-identity and the use of meaningful activities to support health, development and well-being. The content of this unit will support you in completing your Non-Exam Assessment task for the double award. Non-Exam Assessment If you are studying for the WJEC GCSE Health and Social Care, and Childcare single award you will need to complete two tasks for Unit 2 which will be assessed by your teacher. Task 1 is to write a report on local and national service provision within Wales to meet the needs of one of the following target groups: children, adolescents or adults. Within that service provision, you should investigate the roles of two key professionals and analyse the task. Task 2 is to write a report on the health promotion available to your chosen target group concerning a topic of your choice. You should also plan a health promotion campaign or activity surrounding this and analyse the task. If you are studying for the WJEC GCSE Health and Social Care, and Childcare double award , in addition to your assessed work for Unit 2 as described above, you will need to complete one task for Unit 4 which will also be assessed by your teacher. You will need to choose a target group and write a report on your investigation work into their specific needs and the current service provision to meet those needs. You will analyse any local and national trends within Wales that may affect this provision. You will investigate meaningful activities to meet a particular need of your chosen target group and then plan and produce an activity. You will analyse and evaluate the task.
